OUr Mission

Drop Shadow

Our mission is to help mothers navigate the devastating grief of losing a child to violence while providing a platform to advocate for change. We aim to uplift and embrace mothers in their darkest hours, letting them know they don't walk alone.

Together, we leverage our trauma into power, taking action so no more families endure this suffering. We provide a lifeline of hope to remind grieving mothers their lives still have meaning and purpose.

Our collective light honors our lost loved ones by helping build a world free of the violence that took our children too soon.

The Founder

Drop Shadow

We Got Us Moms, established in 2020 by Seattle resident Donnitta Sinclair-Martin, is a supportive community for mothers of color who are grieving the loss of a child.

Donnitta was inspired to create this space after the tragic death of her 19-year-old son, Horace Lorenzo Anderson, who fell victim to gun violence.

Struggling to find support that resonated with her cultural background, she recognized the need for a dedicated space where mothers of color could come together to find compassion, healing, and purpose in the face of their shared grief.
